Hello, I'm your Patient Zero and I am here to serve. I am leading us all into a glorious future. People say I became famous by luck, right place right time, they say. But luck is earned. I worked hard, I was frugal, I lived right, I was ready, and they were not.

I could not have done it all alone. To be Patient Zero there has to be a Patient One and a Patient Two and a Patient Three and now we have Patient Five Billion. There are more and more Patients every day! It warms my proudly diseased heart and soul to see such fervent devotion to the cause. I blush with pride every time I think I was the one who set it in motion.

Most major accomplishments have a big impact right away. But my accomplishment was not noticed for months and months. It was frustrating to me. But now I have had an impact second to none. And whereas many people say I could rest on my laurels, I believe that I'm really only halfway there. Granted, there are approximately 3.4 billion people left who are not Patients, and more being born every day. But the trajectory is in my favor.

For those aspiring to be Patient Zero: Don't give up! And when the opportunity presents itself, sieze it! Before becoming Patient Zero, I had accomplished nothing. I tried hard, I believed in myself, but it was one hollow failure after another. The American Dream was a farce to me. But not now. I will be remembered forever.

It's strange to have accomplished so much, and then to be out of the game. Just an old tired zero, that's me. My life really has no purpose now. But it was I who defined when the glorious past began and the hideous future took over. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat! Everyone's life will become nothing. But not my life. My zero is eternal.
